How much RAM does Hermes Agent need on a VPS?

Most people should start at 4 GB RAM and 2 vCPU. Go to 8 GB if your agent uses browser automation heavily. 2 GB works if you install without browser tools.

Why browser tools change the answer

Hermes' installer adds browser and computer-use tooling, including a pinned Chromium, unless you pass --skip-browser (install docs). A headless browser is the memory-hungry part of an agent server. Synteq's write-up has more sizing notes for both Hermes and OpenClaw, including OpenClaw running on a 1 GB server with swap and needing about 6 GB to build its Docker image from source (Synteq).

CPU and disk

Agents spend most of their time waiting on the model API, so 1–2 vCPU is usually enough. Any plan here has enough disk for the agent, though skill files, logs and browser caches grow over time.
